The Accused

The Accused

Belied and betrayed she lies and weeps
As in his bed he easily sleeps,
Untrue of what she's accused,
His mistrust has left her now,
So cold as ice; bruised heart like petals.

Rejecting the vitals of life,
Slowly the heart dies beneath her breast.
Scorned by the man to whom she belongs,
Slandered in the stings of his hateful stare.

Grieved beyond imaginable horizon,
She mourns for the love now denied.
Wronged, to have been accused of such,
Lost in the ocean of a bleeding heart.

Too late the jealousy revealed,
That which to the lovers was concealed.
Not soon enough the scoundrels lies unveiled,
As the accused is laid to rest.
